I read the 'New York Times,' 'USA Today,' the 'Union-Tribune,' then go online to Drudge, CNN, Fox News, blogs.
I went to USC where there's a huge Greek system. The school is in a pretty seedy area, so the only social life is at these fraternities. I never joined one myself, but I had a lot of friends who were in frats and I would go to those parties. I had a healthy dose of being around frat life while I was in school.
Everyone talks about Utah riding, slickrock and all that. I go through the mountain-bike magazines at the shop, and I think, 'That'd be awesome.'
The purpose of a vacation is to have the time to rest. But many of us, even when we go on vacation, don't know how to rest. We may even come back more tired than before we left.
I don't relax. I can't take vacations. I'm obsessive-compulsive, and I worry with every project that I'm going to fail. When it starts to go well, and I sense that something beautiful and important and meaningful is being created, it's a fantastic feeling, and I find it very hard to stop.
I would go on summer vacations visiting family all over the world.
Now, as a comic, if you're vaguely amusing you can go straight into TV, then you play the O2 and then everyone's sick of you.
I didn't go to the lectures. My valet, who was more distinguished than I, went instead.
There's always a hunger, when you're young, to go from peak to peak and avoid the valleys.
When you go through a tournament of seven games, there are peaks and valleys. You kind of ride the players that are hot.
All I can go on is my own value system.
I know when I go outside, there'll be a van or two and they'll probably follow us four out of seven days a week, trying to get something. But I'm just going across town and I know they're just wasting their day, so it doesn't bother me anymore.
Even up here on Vancouver on the weekends, I go work out in a studio space.
Virtue would go far if vanity did not keep it company.
A lot of times, we talk about black people as if being black is all they are. They get up, go to work... and are as complex and interesting and variable as any other group of people. We don't often capture that or write about it.
There are so many variables that go into a fight, you shouldn't waste your time worrying about the other fighters.
At the risk of being old-fartish, I like old-school wines that taste the way the winemaker intended, as opposed to organic and untreated ones with more bottle variation. If I want to take a risk, I'll go bungee-jumping.
Go outside! I mean, even leaves from a park are beautiful in a clear glass vase. I'd rather see that than fake anything any day.
Even the most radical Islamic terrorist would not want to see the revered holy city of Medina go up. It would be like losing the Vatican in Rome.
Wealth and vegetation go together, and that exacerbates environmental injustice. The poor bear the burden of degraded environments.
